“I am interested by gypsies in caravans waiting for their eviction by the police, of immigrants from Africa in unsafe buildings, circuses on the edge of freeways surrounding Paris, dirty sex cinemas of Pigalle—and the quiet life in the suburbs,” Chehere wrote about his inspirations for the project.
Last October I saw an amazing installation by Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe called “Stray Light Grey” at the Marlborough Gallery. I came across these funny books in my phone with their made up titles from the made up library. I heard that most of the exhibition was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy so thought I would post them.
